Independence Day ~ Freedom
This is Wikipedia's description of Independence Day:
Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government and traditions of the United States Independence Day is the National Day of the United States.
I remember when my children were young, we would visit our parents and on the 4th of July, we would go to Albert Lea and sit on the north side of the main street by the river to watch the Fourth of July parade. When it got dark, we would watch the big fireworks show that lit up the sky! It would remind us that we were not under British rule anymore.
Now that I am much older, how many times we thought that we would lose our freedom again - war after war have come and gone and we are still here. Our brave soldiers are still dying to keep our freedom.
Matthew 24 tells us all that is going on in the last days before Jesus returns to take all that believes in Him to heaven. I want to tell you that if you want this real freedom, you have to believe the scripture in the Bible: you must accept Jesus as your personal Savior into your heart and lives. Religion is sometimes helpful, but it is all about believing in and receiving Jesus into your heart and to live for Him.
John 3:16 is For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Joh 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
When you receive Christ Jesus into your heart, you will know what real freedom is. When I received Jesus into my heart. I was dying while in Sister Kenny Hospital in Minneapolis. At 1:30 in the morning, Jesus came to the foot of my bed and I felt so unworthy and afraid of dying so I asked Him to forgive me. When He touched me, I felt so clean and forgiven. I now understood and know knew what real freedom was all about.
Repeat those scripture above and believe this will happen to you.
Fourth of July stands for freedom in the United States. Receiving Jesus into your heart is the everlasting freedom that only Jesus can give you!
