| MOTHERS Proverbs 31: 10 – 13 Pro 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Look at all the things that she will do for you and your family. Pro 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. Pro 31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Pro 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. I would like you to read verses 14 through 31 out of your Bible to see what a busy and great mother she was. This sounds like my Bonnie Lou, the wonderful wife that God gave to me for 67 years. My District and ministry responsibilities kept me away from home a lot but Bonnie Lou was always faithful to care for our family and all the responsibilities that goes with our Lord's calling in our lives. Here are a few other Great Mothers in the Bible. The Birth of Samuel Jochebed 1 Samuel 1:26 – 28 Samuel Given to the Lord 1Sa 1:26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the LORD. 1Sa 1:27 For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: 1Sa 1:28 Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there. Because of a giving heart we have one of our children in Pastoral Ministry another in Children's ministry, another in building and repairing churches and another always helping people. I am sure blessed. The Birth of Jesus Luk 1:27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. Luk 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luk 1:29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. Luk 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. Luk 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. Luk 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. We could go on and on with mothers in the Bible. Let's bring this down to our everyday living. I know that you desire to please our Lord Jesus in your daily walk with Him. Learn from these that have gone on before you. If you are doing this now, teach and continue to be an example to other younger mothers. Mothers, you are LOVED for your faithfulness.
