On the Road Again - Missions
Dear Co-Laborers:
This was sent to me from my son Bryan and we are going to Japan for 5 Sundays in ministries beginning August first. Pray for our time there and would you help us with your giving to missions for our expenses. We have already spent near $5000.00 dollars on Airfare and Pass Ports etc.. Missionaries Joyce & Koichi Ketano will pick us up at the Tokyo Airport. We will be there by there invitation. It's official!
We have our tickets and are leaving August 1st for Tokyo, Japan. Shirley and I, along with my dad, will be traveling to Tsukuba International Christian Assembly (AG) to fill in for a month while the church is between missionaries. As its name implies, the congregation is cosmopolitan, made up of Japanese, Filipinos, as well as people from England and several African nations. The area has many universities and educational institutions that draw students from around the world. They come from their respective countries for advanced education, stay for a few years, then return home. We will be preaching on Sunday mornings and teaching at several mid-week Bible studies. Shirley will be there almost 3 weeks, while Dad and I will stay almost 5 weeks, returning the beginning of September.
We would really appreciate your prayers during this trip. It is exciting, but also a big step of faith so we are definitely looking for prayer support. Shirley and I recently had the opportunity to host in our home the missionaries who have pastored there the past two years. It was a privilege to meet them; they are very excited about our coming. The church has great potential. They have the opportunity to make an impact both locally and (literally) worldwide. We know that prayer is the key to any endeavor. With your help, our ministry time there will be more effective.
