OCT, 2015

Dear Fellow Believer in Christ:

Greetings in the name of our Lord!
We pray that you are in good health and that God is with you daily!

Proverbs 15:29 "The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous."

The Key to Answered Prayer

2Ch 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2Ch 7:15  Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

We have been extremely busy since our last newsletter - attended Bonnie Lou's class reunion, then to Pine Island to see my brother, Pastor Dan and Marianne, on to St. Paul, Carmen's sister's church, and to De Pere, Wisconsin to our son Brent and Bobbie's home.

Bonnie Lou and I are currently visiting my older brother, Floyd in Utica, Mississippi with his daughter Teresa and family.  We now finally have our airline tickets to fly newsletter to Hawaii.

Floyd and Teresa wanted us to see the new film War Room. so we drove some hour away to a theater near

Jackson. Bonnie Lou and I were so glad that we were able to go with them, for the movie opened our spiritual eyes to see how to pray and believe how our Lord will answer our prayers!

Trust me. God is very interested in answering our prayers. When we get down to business with Him, get alone with Him in serious praying, He will work out every detail in seeing our prayer answered. We came away from seeing the movie with a new desire to see our loved ones believing that Jesus is not willing that anyone be lost and to know Jesus as their personal Savior.

This scripture in John 3:16 will enlighten you why we want to see everyone come to know Jesus as their personal Savior.

John 3:16

GOD - the greatest lover.

SO LOVED - the greatest degree.

THE WORLD - the greatest company.

THAT HE GAVE - the greatest act.

HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON - the greatest gift.

THAT WHOSOEVER - the greatest opportunity.

BELIEVETH - the greatest simplicity.

IN HIM - the greatest attraction.

SHOULD NOT PERISH - the greatest promise.

BUT - the greatest difference.

HAVE - the greatest certainty.

ETERNAL LIFE - the greatest possession.

I so want everyone to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

That is why I accepted Jesus at the age of sixteen while I was a patient in Sister Kenny Institute dying with polio. It was then, that Jesus called me to preach the gospel. On October 16, 65 years ago, Bonnie Lou and I got married and on our honeymoon we accepted our first church in Arkansas. Out of these 65 years, 47 of those years have been in Hawaii. Even now, we are determined to reach the world for Jesus!

What about you? Will you be willing to pray, intercede, be determined to train others to win the lost to our Savior?

Read the scripture again and let Jesus speak to you.

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people,

which are called by my name,

shall

humble themselves,

 and

pray,

and

seek my face,

and

turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven,

 and

will forgive their sin,

and

will heal their land.

2Ch 7:15

Now

mine eyes shall be open,

and

mine ears attent unto the prayer

that is made in this place.

  • 2 cups Gala apple wedges
  • 1 tablespoon butter, divided
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, divided

  • 1/2 cup fat-free, lower-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
