Dear Prayer Partners: Christmas 2009

Aloha in the Wonderful Name of Jesus!

Many things have happened to us this year, but God is to receive all the Glory!

We ministered to many Assembly congregations in Hawaii and on the mainland. You all have been so wonderful to Bonnie Lou and me and we thank you for your prayers.

Bryan and Shirley became the pastors of Kailua Assembly here in Hawaii. Before we came to Minnesota we had the privilege to minister for some eleven services with their wonderful people while Bryan was back in Gig Harbor to take care of business.

This September, while in Minnesota, Bonnie Lou had a heart attack when we were at the Mundale farm in Alden, MN. My brother, Dale, was on his way with his wife, Shirley, to visit us. When they arrived, I had Bonnie Lou ready so we rushed her to the hospital in Albert Lea and they rushed her by ambulance to Rochester Mayo Clinic some 75 more miles away. Two days later, on Labor Day Sunday, the surgeon performed emergency open heart surgery with a three by-pass and an aortic heart valve replacement. She now has a cow’s heart valve. My brother, Dan, and his wife, Marianne, were in Minneapolis, so they picked Bradley up at the airport when he came from Hawaii. Then Brent, arrived by car from DePere, WI, seven hours away. Mom was so happy to see them. Ten days later, Bonnie Lou was back on the farm.

Dale and Shirley picked up our daughter Brenda at the airport who arrived from Arizona. Then Brenda went back to the airport over 100 miles away to pick up her daughter, Stephanie, and her new baby, Lily, and they were with us for some two weeks. What a blessing to have our children with us during these trying times.

We want to say a big Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank you very much) for all your prayers. We also want to thank the people from our home church at Wells, MN for all the meals that you brought over to the farm after our return from the hospital.

After our return to Hawaii this October 31^st, we had the privilege to preach for our Samoan Ohana (family), Pastor Muao and Via Ava, our son’s church in Kailua for their Church’s 60^th Anniversary, and then for Pastor Bob and Dorothy Leong at Faith Assembly, where Bonnie Lou and I pastored for over 24 years.

We pray our Lord’s Blessing be on all of you during this Christmas and New Year Season.
