Bill Ashpole News Letter

JULY 2016

Dear Fellow Believer in Christ:

Greetings in the name of our Lord!
We pray that you are in good health and that God is with you daily!

Jesus said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31-32)

Independence Day

Independence Day is

commonly associated with barbecues, picnics, concerts, carnivals, parades, fireworks, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies.

Streamers and clothing are generally colored red, white, and blue, the colors of the American Flag.

Independence Day in the United States - the Biggest is Birthday Celebration in the World!

It is by far the most important national holiday of the year.

National Importance

The United States is a fairly young country, and the original birthday of the US was actually not that long ago. In 1776, the original thirteen states came together and separated from England with the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4. During this time, the brave Founding Fathers knew that the future ahead would be full of danger and risk to themselves and their families, but the importance of the country was greater than any one person.

Thus, in 1776, the United States of America was born.

We want to hold onto this freedom, and most of all, the freedom to serve our Lord Jesus as we believe. Because you and I believe in the Bible, that should not be taken away from us.  Political Correctness is not to be forced on us by a few in our government who don't want to believe our Bible. They want to believe in what they want but take away from us what we hold dear. The Founding Fathers fought for the right to believe in what we hold dear to us and be able to share it with everyone else. Others from around the world, are being allowed to come here - and they want to force their religion on us, but at the same time, we are losing our freedom to share our beliefs with others.

I am so thankful for the freedom that we have. I am so thankful that I believe what the Bible tells me how I can be free In Jesus Christ.

If others want to believe in their religion, I say, go for it. We will see when it is all over which one was right. I know that I am right in my beliefs in our Bible that I am willing to stake my life on it. My Bible states that when we die we either go to heaven or Hell. I made up my mind that I am going to Heaven were Jesus is our King of Kings. Jesus did not come to this earth to die and shed His blood for us to rule on this earth. He wants to live in our heart and life so we will serve him and be ready to be with Him in Heaven for eternity.

A person recently told me that he was not good enough to go to Heaven to be with Jesus. I told him that none of us are good enough to go to heaven. That's why our God in heaven sent His only Son to shed His blood and die on a cross so that He can forgive us of all our sins. We cannot work our way to have Salvation; Jesus paid and forgave us of all of our sins. When Jesus comes into our heart and lives, He will help us change to be like Him.

It is so easy to become a Born again Christian:

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:18  He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Rom 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Rom 10:10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Feeding the spirit, feeding the body ~ Enjoy  this month's recipe:

Fourth of July Flag Parfait

Ingredients

  • 24 oz. frozen red raspberries
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 1/4 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 1 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 lb. fresh blueberries

Preparation

1.  In a medium saucepan, combine the raspberries and the sugar over low heat. Stir and smash the berries until the fruit is pulverized and the sugar has melted. About 10 minutes.

2.  Over 1/3 cup cold water, sprinkle the 3 1/4 tsp gelatin on the surface and stir, allowing it to dissolve.  Once the raspberries are liquid, spoon the softened gelatin into the mixture and stir to dissolve further.

3.  Strain the raspberries through a strainer using a rubber spatula to press out the juices, leaving the seeds remaining.  Set aside and allow to cool to room temperature.

4.  Make the Cream Layer: In a separate saucepan, combine the whole milk, heavy cream and the remaining 1/3 cup sugar. Simmer until the sugar is dissolved, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Over 1/3 cup cold water add the 2 tsp gelatin and allow to dissolve.  Once dissolved add to the hot milk mixture and stir to combine.  Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

5.  Begin filling glasses or clear plastic cups by using the red gelatin first, about 3 Tbs. You can use a small funnel.  Refrigerate the first layer 1 hour.  Layer the cream mixture next, using a different funnel if desired, 3 Tbs. of mixture.  Refrigerate 1 hour. Repeat for 4 layers total.

6.  If the mixtures begin to thicken, heat them slightly over low heat until liquid again. Allow to cool a bit before layering them.

7.  When ready to serve, sprinkle fresh berries on top.  Yum!

Yield

Serves 8-10 in 5 oz, plastic cups or small glasses
